We've been a bit quiet for the last month, busily preparing for our next event of course. We hope to have some great news about our next event in the coming days. We also have some profiles lined up for the run up to the event, kicking things off with Zoe Southwell from Block Recruit.
As ever if you want to feature in one of our profiles, please get in touch.
Name: Zoe Southwell
Company: Block Recruit
Position: Senior Recruitment Consultant
LinkedIn Profile: https://www.linkedin.com/in/zoeblockrecruit/
What services does your company provide: Operating only within the Block Management industry, at Block Recruit we specialise in understanding both people and their ambitions. With a resourcing strategy that prizes the individual, our passion for supporting applicants through process to placement yields loyal repeat business from the candidates and clients we represent. We assist with the recruitment of positions from Admin & Support staff right up to Director level (including everything in between!). We help build futures. Block by Block.
What are the Unique Selling Points of your company: We’re the only company that specialises solely in Block Management. Our business model is based on service and not sales figures, we take the time to understand the needs of both candidates and clients. We’ve implemented a number of initiatives which add value to both the candidates and clients we represent, free of charge. For us, it’s all about going the extra mile.
What are the key aspects of your job role: My role combines the dual responsibility of ensuring all candidates and clients are delivered the exceptional service levels we pride ourselves on, whilst also acting as a mentor to the Block Recruit Team. I work on behalf of leading brands and candidates nationally, managing our largest clients. I also act as an ambassador for Doyenne (a networking group connecting women in leasehold) and everyone that I represent.
Why should people get in touch with you: People should not only get in touch if they’re looking to make a career move or recruit the next member of their team (with the help of a dedicated team that will be there every step of the way, wink wink), but if they’re looking for general industry advice or guidance. It’s free, I’m happy to chat, it’s what I’m here for – take advantage of it!
What sports do you follow/what teams do you support/what hobbies do you take part in: My dad is a diehard Arsenal fan and I was dressed in Arsenal kits until I was like 5 years old, so should probably say them just in case he sees this! I was also a figure skater for 10 years and was part of the Wight Jewels (TEAM GB) and competed around the world, including at the World Championships in Sweden and Switzerland. I was also in one of the Dancing on Ice Tour shows.
Favourite drink: Got to be a mojito hasn’t it. Or anything with vodka in it. Just don’t come near me with Gin or Sambuca.
Where did you last go on holiday: My last holiday was actually to Ibiza for the Warwick Estates 10 Year Anniversary party, and oh what a party it was!
Interesting fact about yourself : Despite being in my 20’s, I still cannot swim. I went “swimming” in the sea with my Director Alice last summer, little does she know I was actually walking along just doing the arm movements.
A goal you have set for yourself: I’m currently studying the IRPM and have recently passed the foundation exam – the Associate exam is now my focus and so I’ve started the reading for that! On a personal note, I’m aiming to buy my first house this year... exciting!
